The refrigerant, in a gaseous state, releases heat as it condenses into a liquid phase within the BPHE.

Evaporators: Evaporators are responsible for absorbing heat from the cooling space or product and evaporating the refrigerant to facilitate cooling. Copper BPHEs are widely used as evaporators due to their high thermal conductivity and efficient heat transfer capabilities. The evaporator absorbs heat from the surroundings, causing the refrigerant to evaporate and cool the desired area.
