Instruction :
Safety Precautions: Before starting any work, ensure that the heat exchanger and surrounding area are safe and free from any potential hazards. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and safety glasses.
Inspection: Inspect the copper plate heat exchanger for any signs of damage, corrosion, or leaks. Check for any debris or fouling on the plates that may affect heat transfer efficiency.
Shut Down and Isolation: Safely shut down the system and isolate the heat exchanger from the fluid flow. Close any valves or disconnect any connections to prevent the flow of fluids during maintenance.
Draining: Drain the fluid from the heat exchanger to a
safe disposal location. Follow proper procedures to avoid spills or contamination.
Disassembly: Carefully remove the tightening bolts or clamps that hold the plates together. Take note of the order and arrangement of plates for reassembly.
Cleaning: Clean the copper plates using appropriate methods such as chemical cleaning or mechanical scrubbing to remove any fouling or deposits. Follow the manufacturer's instructions or recommended cleaning procedures.
Inspection and Repair: Inspect the plates for any damages or deformations. Replace any damaged plates or gaskets with suitable replacements. Check for any signs of corrosion or erosion and address them accordingly.
Reassembly: Place the cleaned and repaired plates back into their original order and position. Ensure proper alignment and tightness of the plates. Reinstall the
tightening bolts or clamps and secure them according to the manufacturer's specifications.
Testing: Perform a pressure test to ensure there are no leaks in the reassembled heat exchanger. Check for proper flow and pressure distribution across the plates.
System Start-up: Once the heat exchanger has been reassembled and tested, reconnect the fluid flow and start the system. Monitor the performance and temperature differentials to ensure proper operation.
